I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and lived there until after college when I took a job at a Big 5 accounting firm, met a boy and then moved to Seattle for said boy.  I married him a few years later and have now been living in the Pacific Northwest for 9 years!

Started blogging while living in Dublin, Ireland for about 6 months in 2005. That blog was called A Southerner In Ireland. All the posts from that time can now be found right here at www.ThisJoysLife.com.

When we returned to the states we decided to start our family and that called for a new blog all about my life as a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom) which I called This Joy’s Life. And, as the name suggests, you can now find all those original  posts right here at www.ThisJoysLife.com.

During my first year of motherhood in 2006, I struggled to feel comfortable in my new role and created a secondary writing blog, The JOY of WAHM-ing, i.e. Work-At-Home-Mom, because staying at home with children is just as much work, if not more, than doing the 9 to 5 every week.

About the same time we decided to start our family, we also decided to purchase two companies, one that builds fences and one that paints the interiors and exteriors of houses. We are our own boss and what a challenge that has been! Not only that, my hubby is also developing his on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) consulting practice and the benefit to me, besides that it pays our bilz, is my new and improved blog – www.ThisJoysLife.com.

Now you are “in the know” (and knowing is half the battle).  Welcome to THIS JOY’S LIFE!
